Episode 50  - MalTravAle racks up the half century of podcasts – we look back at the last 2 years of casting – reminisce about the good old days of lock down drinking in pub gardens, revisit our podcast tours and shine a spotlight of our two most talked about pub chains – along with feedback of some of the summer festivals, taps we have visited with a bit of Gallic flair thrown in as well.

We complete our pub tour around the town that named the Podcast – visiting three pubs in the ancient village of Old Malton and a brief viz around some fine country pubs, we also talk beer tax and report back on beery trips to the North east and West Yorks – missed banked pints of Bass, magnificent micro in Stockton and an ancient weighing machine

Episode 48 - MalTravAle visits Cottonopolis & Hat Town – The Podcast amigos use their cheap awayday train tickets to tick off some new pubs and bars in Manchester and Stockport – visiting a few pubs which may not last much longer and search the best Guinness in England – 1 Sam Smiths but no Spoons feature in this episode! 

Episode 47 The town that named a podcast- Part 4 the final stagger Malton pubs 7-11 we virtually sup our final 5 pints in our home town pubs.

Episode 46 - Home Town Crawl 1st Half  – we begin our 11 pub crawl of the town that gave the podcast its name – a beer town since Roman days – as we have covered previously Malton was once drowning in pubs and beer houses – after a bit of decline at the end of the last century, glad to say the drinking scene in the town has had a bit of a revival, linked to the Yorkshire food capital tag and is now quite a varied mix of traditional Yarkshire pubs, Tap rooms and bistro style bars – Expect some of our usual rants about some well know large pubcos and doom mongering about how pubs are not what they used to be when we were young!

Episode 45 – The Town that named a podcast – in this Episode part of a trilogy about our home town we focus on the other town Norton and our real home town – unfortunately the beer scene south of the river is a little limited but we reminisce about the pubs of our youth along with the usual catch up on our beery highlights from the last week and discuss the beer news, Coronation Beers, mixed news about the future of Black Sheep and the demise of the Friday night pub crawl

Episode 44 – The Town the named a podcast – (Part 1) in this Episode (part of a trilogy about our home town) we reminisce about the pubs of our youth that are no longer serving pints – with keep contemporary with tales of working men’s clubs along with the usual catch up on our beery highlights from the last week and discuss the beer news, Nora Batty, a football ground with no beer, drinking from ash trays and the most beautiful Spoons feature in this episode

Episode 43 – We’re Back After a lengthy break we catch up with our normal beery chat about trips and great pints – warning this episode contains a Spoons love in and mention of pies, this episode also features a discussion around the recent surge in continental beers brewed in Tadcaster/Burton and the positive benefits of the £2 bus fares.

Episode 42 Hunting York’s lost brewing history- a different theme in this podcast. picking up a debate we started back in Episode 9 when we started our three episode traipse around York's very fine pubs, so expect a bit of brewing history, a beer festival and a few pints around York- Oh and a story about some nuns that ran a pub. 

Episode 41 – Searching for Stones in Steel City – back in Episode 14 we planned a virtual beer trip to England’s 4th city, the 7 hilled former industrial power-house of Sheffield, rightly known throughout the world for its fine steel and cutlery – in this episode we do the real thing and a spend a day supping 13 fines beers in a range of Sheffield’s finest hostelries old and new. We discuss the decline of brewing and beer in the city during the 80’s and phoenix like rebirth and continued growth from the 90’s onwards into to a city now of over 50 working breweries and The Guardian proclaims is possibly the Beer capital of Britain
